Eyebrows Tattoo Procedure
Ombre eyebrow tattooing, also known as ombre powder brows, is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the shape, definition, and fullness of the eyebrows. This technique creates a soft-shaded, gradient effect, where the brows appear lighter at the front and gradually darken towards the tail, mimicking a natural, powdered makeup look. It is an ideal solution for individuals seeking fuller, symmetrical, and low-maintenance brows.

Procedure Steps
1. Consultation & Brow Mapping
-
The procedure begins with a detailed consultation where the client’s desired brow shape, color, and overall aesthetic goals are discussed.
-
Using precise brow mapping techniques, the technician outlines the most flattering shape based on the client’s facial features.
-
A customized pigment is selected to complement the client's skin tone and hair color.
2. Numbing & Preparation
-
A topical numbing cream is applied to minimize discomfort.
-
The brow area is cleansed and prepped for the procedure.
3. Ombre Powder Application
-
A digital tattoo machine with an ultra-fine needle is used to deposit pigment into the skin using a soft shading technique.
-
The process starts with a light application at the front of the brows, gradually deepening towards the tail for a seamless ombre effect.
-
The procedure typically takes 2 hours.
4. Healing & Aftercare
-
The initial healing process lasts about 7-10 days, with full results visible after 4-6 weeks.
-
The brows may appear darker and slightly swollen immediately after the procedure but will soften as they heal.
-
Aftercare includes avoiding excessive moisture, applying a healing ointment, and refraining from picking at scabs to ensure optimal pigment retention.
After Care - Ombre Powder Brows
Proper aftercare of your eyebrow tattoo is very important. During the first week, the tattooed area will appear significantly darker, larger, and sharper than what is expected for the final outcome. Slight swelling and redness can occur. One procedure cannot guarantee desired outcome(s). Tattoo will be much lighter and less crisp once healed. In some cases, it is necessary to review the healing process after the first procedure in order to see how clients react to the pigment. The tattoo will fade 25-40% after the first session. Therefore, we offer touch-up visit within 6-8 weeks from the date of the initial procedure. For complicated cases involving pigment lightening or colour correction, there will be an extra charge. When covering an old tattoo, there is a higher chance that more than one touch-up is necessary but each case is different. In general and in some cases, it is also possible for any client to require more than one touch-up to achieve their ideal look.
THE DAY OF THE TREATMENT - ABSORB:
-
Gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess body fluid. Do this every 5 minutes for the full day until oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the body fluid.
DAYS 1-7 – WASH:
-
Wash daily to remove bacteria and dead skin (this does not remove the pigment )
-
GENTLY wash your eyebrows each morning and night with lukewarm water and an antibacterial soap like Dial Soap. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants.
-
Allow the eyebrows to air dry
DAY 1-7 – MOISTURIZE:
-
Apply Aquaphor (rice grain amount) with a clean cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. ( If needed) Make sure that you do not over-apply the area, as this will suffocate your skin and delay or prevent healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin.
REMINDERS:
-
Use a fresh, clean pillowcase
-
DO NOT rub, scratch, or pick any scabs along the tattooed area – let it fall off naturally. Early removal or picking of pigment crusts/scabs may result in loss of color, scarring, or infection.
-
Avoid facials, Botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
-
Avoid swimming, soaking in water, steam baths, hot tubs, and facials for the first 10 days
-
Avoid sweating for the first 10 days
-
Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
-
Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area for 2 weeks
-
Avoid direct sun exposure (including tanning beds) for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat and large sunglasses when outdoors.
-
Resume taking vitamins after 7 days
SHOWERING:
-
Limit your showers to 5 minutes to avoid creating too much steam. Keep your face/eyebrow area out of the water while you wash your body, and only wash your hair at the end of your shower. Your face should only be getting wet at the end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.
LONG TERM CARE:
-
Use sunscreen daily on tattooed areas
-
Get regular touch-ups every 1 – 2 years on pigmented areas as the color will fade over time
-
Notify technicians that you have an iron-oxide cosmetic tattoo prior to receiving a chemical peel, MRI, or other medical procedures
-
Notify your laser specialist to avoid targeting pigmented areas if you are planning to have any laser treatments. The lasers may cause pigment to darken.
-
Avoid applying anti-aging creams, retinol products, proactive acne product, and glycolic acid on tattooed areas as continued use could cause discolouration or fading of the pigment
